Have you ever been to a "Diaper Drop"? Neither had I,
but when a friend decided she would throw one for our mutual friend (and her
hubby) I was excited to partake in the festivities. So the whole event involves
you bringing diapers instead of gifts like a normal baby shower. When I
originally heard diaper drop I was thinking of all the pretty ways I could wrap
a box of diapers with big bows and ribbon, however what you probably do not
know about me is that my creative mind tends to run wild. This gave me the
perfect excuse to craft something, that was more personable than beautifully
wrapped diapers and so I did. I considered making a diaper cake, but those have
become more common. I considered a diaper basket, but I thought that was too
simple. So I ended up making a diaper wreath that resembles a dream catcher. To
be honest, this project is a tad bit time consuming, but it was totally worth
it.
To complete this DIY you will need the following:
- Wire wreath frame
- Diapers (I used a size 1)
- Artificial flowers (I used two different colors)
- Curling ribbon (I used white so it would blend with the diapers)
- Rubber bands (I used clear to blend with the diapers)
- Thread (I used crochet thread)
- Your choice of decorative ribbon (I chose 4 different colors)
Since this was my first time making a diaper wreath I did not
record the entire process, but I do have a few pictures. This DIY was just too
cute to not share it. Here is my Dream Catcher Diaper Wreath!
Have a great day!
